abstract = "Ionospheric behavior of the F2 layer parameters measured by a new
Digisonde Portable Sounder 4D (DPS4D), that became operational at
Santa Maria in April 2017, is analyzed in this work. Medium values
of the F-region critical frequency (foF2), peak height (hmF2), and
F2-layer thickness parameter (Bo) scaled from ionograms are
compared with the latest version of the International Reference
Ionospheric (IRI-2016) model predictions, for the same geophysical
conditions and location. We have considered the DPS4D observations
taken in the five magnetically quiet days of October 2017,
January, April and July 2018 as representatives of the Southern
Hemisphere spring, summer, autumn, and winter, respectively. The
results are presented and discussed taken into account the
IRI-2016 predictions using CCIR and URSI coefficients.",
